What is your theater like?
The California Theatre is a beautifully restored historic performing arts theater with excellent acoustics and sight-lines. Each of the 500 seats offer a completely unobstructed view of the stage and provides an intimate setting for a wide variety of performances.
How do I purchase tickets?
You may purchase tickets online anytime, over the telephone at 925.427-1611 or in person at the box office during box office hours. The box office is located at 351 Railroad Ave. and is open one hour prior to each show.
Does California Theatre have assigned seating?
The artist or performing group chooses whether their show will have Reserved Seating or will be General Admission. You will be advised of the seating type at the time of your ticket purchase.
What is the age for the Senior citizen discount?
62 years old.
Do you allow refunds or exchanges?
All sales are final. There are no refunds/exchanges.
What method of payment do you accept?
We except cash, all major debit and credit cards.
Does my child need a ticket?
All persons regardless of age are required to have a ticket.
Are there any wheelchair accessible seats?
Wheelchair accessible seating is available for all performances and can be purchased online or though the box office. If you have any questions, please call 925.427-1611.
What is the parking situation at the theater?
There is free parking available on the streets surrounding the theater. The closest parking lot is across the street on 4th and Marina Blvd. (behind New Mecca Restaurant).
What time do the doors open to the public?
The doors to the lobby and the box office will open one hour prior to show time. The doors to the auditorium will open approximately 30 minutes prior to show time.
What happens if I arrive late?
If you arrive late to the performance you will only be seated when there is an appropriate break during the performance or during intermission.
Will there be an intermission and an opportunity to purchase beverages and snacks?
Some of our performances have intermissions, and some do not. This is the choice of the artist. Concessions will be available.
Is it okay to take photographs at a concert or show?
It is very rare that performers allow members of the audience to take photographs. Flash photography and video or audio recording are strictly prohibited. Photography and recording restrictions include the use of cell phone cameras. Please honor any stated requests regarding photography, which are usually made just before the performance begins.
Does the theater have a Lost and Found?
All recovered items will be held in the box office. Please call 925.427-1611 to inquire about a lost item.
How can I get involved with the California Theatre?
